 Our Mission

"The Church exists by mission as fire exists by burning." - Emil Brunner

Mission is at the heart of the Church's life and, indeed, the main reason for the Church's existence.  As our congregations grow both in numbers and in self-awareness, the churches in Odd Rode are  increasingly engaging with the mission of the wider Church and seeking to carry out the mission  within the wider community. We use the Church of England's "5 marks of mission" as our  missionary guidelines. These are:

 1. To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
 2. To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
 3. To respond to human need by loving service
 4. To seek to transform unjust structures of society
 5. To safeguard the integrity of creation, and to sustain and renew the Earth

The three churches in the parish are actively seeking ways in which these criteria can be met, so  that more people can hear the Gospel of Jesus and that members of the churches can grow in  spiritual understanding and Christian maturity. All of this takes place within a framework of  maintaining and developing our valuable heritage and church buildings.

 Pastoral Care Team

An integral part of the Church's mission is providing spiritual and emotional support to those who are  in need. At Odd Rode, we have a dedicated team who visit those who need the support and care of  the Church. Please click HERE for more information.
